Ready For Summer Game
Read the story and play the
game. Clues are in blue!
Yes it's June and it is time for
kids to take a wonderful
break from school and homework.
It is also a time to appreciate your Father on Father's Day.
Remember Father's Day is always the third Sunday in June. This
year it is June 21st. Fathers are very special and important to
us throughout our lives. On Father's Day it is your opportunity
to show him how much you
appreciate all of his work and dedication to you and the
family.
Now that you are out of school you will have a summer ahead of
you to relax, have fun, learn many things, and maybe earn some
money. Plan your time and get the most out of it.
-Make a list of things to do for each
category.
-After each item list how you intend to
accomplish it and
a timeframe to do it in.
The summer will go by quickly so be careful to plan your time
for each activity.
This is a good exercise because many adults need to do this at
work to plan tasks and meet schedules. Parents also make plans
and schedules for
their futures like saving for a house, going to college, or
planning for retirement.
Some examples for you could be: Learn something new
Read 3 books (one book per month)
Complete an Arts and Craft project (July 10 to July 28)
Complete a project around the house with Dad (August 1 to
August 20)
Take your dog to
obedience class (June 20 to July 10)
Work on your spelling and math skills (Every evening after
dinner for 20 minutes)
Write in a journal
about your summer (Every evening before bed for 10
minutes)
Make Money
Ask your parents if you can do a chore around the house to
make an allowance.
Ask if you can walk a
neighbors dog,
clean their yard, or other chores for some money.
Collect bottles and cans to return for refunds.
Have fun
Learn a new sport,
volleyball,
swimming, skating
Plan to go to the movies and select a favorite to see
Plan to visit a museum
Go to the park with friends
Plan a camping trip in the back yard
Go for a hike in a state park
Plan well and have a wonderful summer to remember for the rest
of your life.
To play the game below, you really have to read the story
above.... You will have a chance to shoot space invaders! The
more you shoot, the more questions you get to answer... the more
questions you answer correctly the more points you get...!

Our Mission: "Big Blend Magazine is a company based on the belief that education is the most formidable weapon that can be waged against fear, ignorance and prejudice.
It is our belief that education starts at
home and branches outward. Education leads to travel, and
travel leads to understanding, tolerance, and appreciation
of cultures and customs different to our own, and ultimately
to world peace. Our company is further based on the
principle that networking, communication, and helping others
to promote and market themselves leads to financial
stability; thus paving the way to better education, travel,
and the spirit of giving back to the community."
