Julian is an historic gold mining town
located in the back country of San Diego county, California. It is
one of California's most popular getaways and is beautiful all year
round. It is especially known for apple picking in local orchards
and apple pie; as a romantic getaway; as a family friendly
destination; as a superb shopping experience; and as a quaint town
surrounded by natural beauty.
The Chamber is located in the
nearly 100-year-old Town Hall which displays historic photos
upstairs, and is often used for local meetings and events. The
Chamber of Commerce office has maps, brochures, books and an
informed staff that provides information about Julian lodging,
restaurants, shops, business services and events.

Grape Stomp & Festa, the Julian Fourth of July Parade, the
Annual Bluegrass Festival and the Julian Country Christmas and

Julian Doves & Desperado Historic Comedy Skits & Re-enactments -
Every Sunday,
from Noon to 4pm, see Julian’s history come to life as Julian’s
own re-enactment group, the Julian Doves & Desperados, perform
historic comedy skits and roam the streets of the historic down
town area authentically dressed in early western attire dating
from 1850 to 1900, the years gold was discovered and mined from
the local mountains. they also performs a variety of historic
comedy skits at 1pm, 2pm & 3 pm in the stage area between
Cabbages & Kings and the Julian Market & Deli, located near the
intersection of Main & Washington Streets.
Town Hall Crafters & Home
Shows: Craft shows are held in the Julian Town Hall
on the following 2009 dates: Feb. 12-22; Mar. 13-22; Apr. 3-12;
May 15-24; June 19-July 5; Sept. 25-Oct. 12; Nov. 11-22; Dec.
5-13, 26-31. Special Home shows are also held in the Town Hall
from Sept. 1-23; and Oct. 13-Nov. 29.

Bratwurst, beer, Oom-pah music and dancers in traditional German
and Austrian dancing, bring a taste of Europe to downtown Julian

Nov. 28: Julian Country Christmas & Tree Lighting:
Julian celebrates the holiday season with more, brighter lights
on the towns living Christmas tree and a special homage to the
individuals who contribute time, skills, and energy to making
Julian what many consider the best small town in Southern
California. The tree lighting set to take place in Julian’s
Pioneer Park at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, marks the beginning
of the annual Julian Country Christmas celebration, three weeks
of holiday festivity during which visitors and residents can
capture the spirit of the season in an old fashioned way.
DECEMBER 2009 'A Christmas Carol' in Julian,
CA - Dec. 10-20: Julian Stage Company and the Julian
Chamber of Commerce present the 2009 production of Charles
Dickens' A Christmas Carol--a Julian holiday tradition. Give
your holiday spirit a boost with the classic story of a lonely,
miserable, hardhearted old man who finds the true meaning of
life and love during one haunted Christmas Eve.
